Leo Full Moon Ritual • A Return to the Heart
Share
This Leo Full Moon arrives at a time when many of us feel tired, stretched, and pulled away from our centre. The world feels loud. Heavy. Fragmented.
And yet, this lunation does not ask us to harden or to disappear. It asks us to return.
Leo rules the heart. Not the ego. Not performance. Not being seen for the sake of it.
But the quiet inner flame that knows who you are beneath the noise.
This ritual is an invitation to come back into relationship with that light.
To meet yourself in the mirror and remember that your joy is not frivolous, nor something to be earned. It is inherent. It is a birthright.
Let this be simple. Let it be honest. Let it be enough.
What you’ll need:
Keep this simple. Use what you already have.
What matters most is your presence and your intention.
- A yellow, gold, or orange candle
-
Calendula flowers (fresh or dried)
Symbol of radiance, confidence, solar warmth - Salt
- Your favourite incense or oil
- A mirror
If you don’t have these exact tools, substitute intuitively.
The ritual works because you are there. Not because it looks a certain way.
Preparing the space
Find a quiet moment.
Dim the lights if you wish.
Place your candle on a fire-safe dish.
Sprinkle a circle of salt around it, creating a boundary of protection and grounding.
Light your incense or apply your oil.
Let the scent mark the transition from ordinary time into ritual space.
Stand or sit comfortably in front of the mirror.
Take a few slow breaths.
Feel your feet.
Feel your body here.
Visualisation: calling the light back
Close your eyes.
Imagine a warm golden light glowing gently in the centre of your chest.
With each breath, feel it grow brighter. Softer. Stronger.
This light does not strain.
It does not perform.
It simply is.
Let it expand slowly, filling your body.
Then imagine it radiating outward, forming a luminous aura around you.
You are safe here.
You are held here.
When you feel ready, open your eyes and meet your own gaze in the mirror.
Anointing the candle
Take the calendula flowers in your hands.
As you gently anoint the candle, say quietly or aloud:
“I call my light back to myself.
I remember my radiance.
I choose to live from the heart.”
Light the candle.
Allow its flame to become a reflection of the light you are holding within.
Mirror incantation
Looking directly into your own eyes, speak slowly and clearly.
Pause between each line. Let the words land.
You may use these, or speak your own.
I am brave.
I am safe to be seen.
I am safe to shine.
My joy is not something to be earned.
It is my birthright.
I allow my light to grow.
I allow it to be reflected back to me.
When I shine, I give others permission to shine too.
As you speak, imagine the light around you growing brighter and wider, gently filling the space.
Let it bounce back toward you through the mirror.
Let yourself receive it.
Closing the ritual
Place one hand on your heart.
Take three slow breaths.
Say:
I choose what expands me.
I return to the heart.
I carry this light forward.
Allow the candle to burn for a while if it feels right, or safely extinguish it with gratitude.
Integration
This ritual does not end here.
Under this Leo Full Moon, let your practice be simple:
- Choose joy without justification
- Create without outcome
- Speak from the heart, even when it feels vulnerable
This is not bypassing darkness.
It is remembering that love still lives here.
And letting it lead again.
A printable version of this ritual will be added here soon.
