Taurus Full Moon Ritual

A grounding, earth-honouring practice for release and renewal
The Taurus Full Moon follows just days after Samhain, the final harvest of the year — the time when we give thanks for what has grown and lovingly return what’s complete back to the soil.
This ritual invites you to do the same within yourself: to anchor into the Earth, release what’s no longer aligned, and restore your inner balance before the winter descent.
What You’ll Need
- A small bowl of soil or earth (from your garden, a nearby woodland, or even a houseplant)
-
A candle or tealight
-
A small piece of paper and a pen or pencil
-
Optional: crystals for grounding (smoky quartz, black tourmaline, jasper, or labradorite)
-
Optional: Essential oil or incense (cedarwood, patchouli, or frankincense work beautifully)
-
A glass of water or herbal tea to close the ritual
Preparation
Create a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Dim the lights and light your candle.
If possible, sit on the floor so you can feel grounded.
Take a few deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth, letting your shoulders soften.
Visualise a line of golden light running from the crown of your head down through your body, into your feet, and deep into the Earth.
You are part of her rhythm. You are safe here.
Ritual Steps
1. Connect to the Earth
Hold the bowl of soil in your hands.
Notice its texture, its scent, the way it holds life even in stillness.
Whisper softly:
“Mother Earth, I honour your cycles.
As you rest and renew, so do I.
Ground me in truth, hold me in love.”
2. Name What You’re Releasing
On your piece of paper, write the things you’re ready to release — old patterns, fears, habits, relationships, ways of thinking, or energetic ties.
Anything that feels heavy or finished.
As you write, imagine each word transferring its weight from your body into the paper.
3. Offer It Back to the Soil
When you feel complete, fold the paper gently three times toward you (to keep the energy contained) and place it in the soil.
If you’re outside, dig a small hole and bury it directly in the ground.
If you’re indoors, you can press it into the soil of a houseplant.
As you cover it with earth, say aloud:
“With this soil, I return what is complete.
May it decompose into wisdom.
May it nourish new beginnings.”
Pause. Place your hands on the earth and breathe deeply three times.
Feel your roots growing stronger beneath you.
4. Gratitude & Grounding
Spend a few moments in silence or gentle movement, focusing on your breath and heartbeat.
Think of three things you are grateful for right now — simple, real, present.
Let that gratitude fill your chest like warm light.
If you wish, play your chakra reset meditation here, lying back and letting the sound guide you into full alignment.
Spell of Completion
(You may read this aloud to close your ritual)
“Moon of Earth, Moon of Gold,
Hold me steady, brave, and bold.
What has bloomed, I now release,
Into your soil, I plant my peace.
Root me deep, and let me rest,
In stillness I become my best.”
Blow out your candle with intention — sending your wish into the night air.
Sip your water or tea to ground.
Integration
Over the next few days, take gentle walks outside.
Touch the earth whenever you can.
You may notice vivid dreams, emotional clarity, or a sense of relief — the Earth will be working with you to stabilise what’s shifted.
Remember: this is the bloom before the end — a final moment of fullness before winter’s rest. Trust the quiet.
